At Elms Barn, we believe that every wedding should start with a blend of exquisite food, delightful company, and unforgettable experiences. That’s why we were thrilled to host our recent Sample Wedding Menu Event, an occasion that not only delighted the senses but also brought together some of our 2025 couples ready to embark on their wedding journeys.
A Culinary Celebration
The event was a gastronomic delight, with our head chef Shel and the culinary team showcasing a meticulously curated menu. Couples sampled a variety of canapés, starters, mains, and desserts, each crafted with the finest ingredients and a dash of creativity. Each dish was designed to inspire couples as they planned their perfect wedding breakfast.

Wine tasting added an extra layer of sophistication to the evening. Guests savoured a selection of wines from our menu and some exquisite sparkling wine from Chet Valley, which is a wonderful local vineyard.
An Evening of Entertainment and Inspiration
Beyond the culinary delights, the event was filled with moments of joy and inspiration. Live music from Scratch the Cat set an enchanting backdrop, we very much hope to welcome them back as part of some of our 2025 weddings after inspiring those attending to bring in live music to their special day. While Eloise Pitcher, a fabulous wedding photographer, and Rhianna from Magical Moments and Danielle from Social Ceremonies; two fantastic content creators captured the magic of the evening. Couples mingled, exchanged ideas, and formed connections, creating a sense of community as they prepared for their weddings.
We dressed the barn to impress, offering a glimpse into the potential of how it could look on their wedding day. Couples were able to see first-hand the beauty of the venue, sparking creativity and inspiration for their own celebrations. A completely new and custom install from Sam Race dazzled in the beams while our in house florist teams created inspirational table displays for couples still considering their floral décor.
Personalized Attention and Planning
Throughout the event, our dedicated team, including Ruth the wedding director and Sarah our Front of House Manager, were on hand to provide personalized attention. They engaged with couples, answering questions and offering guidance to ensure that every detail of their wedding day would be perfect. This one-on-one interaction was invaluable, helping couples feel confident and excited about their upcoming nuptials, as well as introducing our fantastic head chef Shel to couples and opening up a culinary discussion in a way that is meaningful for both Elms Barn and our couples.
Welcoming the Wedding Year in Style
The event was a perfect way for couples to welcome their wedding year in style. It was not just about sampling food and wine, but also about creating memories and setting the tone for the exciting journey ahead.
