Spring Wedding: Celebrate the Season with Flowers, Fun and Wellies!

Spring is a time of renewal and fresh starts, making it the perfect season for a wedding. Here at Elms Barn, we can help you create a wedding that captures the essence of spring.

  1. Wide Spring flowers
  2. Floral Gowns
  3. Seed Bombs as Favours
  4. Easter Egg Hunt
  5. Outdoor Ceremony
  6. Wheelbarrow full of arrival drinks
  7. Gingham as a nod to the picnic
  8. Garden Party Bridgeton Vibes
  9. Naked Cakes with floral details
  10. Wedding Wellies

  1. Totally timeless and screams spring time wedding. Seasonal florals are always a brilliant idea and our in house florists can help you with designing the perfect floral displays. From bud vases to elaborate candelabra displays and everything in between, spring flowers are so versatile and always look fabulous.
  2. Extend those floral motifs onto your bridesmaids dresses or even your dress if you are feeling brave and want to break away from the traditional white! The white dress became popular in 1840! That’s right 180+ years ago, I think it’s time for something a bit different.
  3. Spring is the ideal time to be planting the flowers to help encourage bees to your garden. So gifting your guests some wild flower seed bombs to help spread some eco-friendly colourful joy that will make your guests smile and remember your wedding every time they see those tiny flowers in their gardens.
  4. If you are lucky enough to bag a date within the Easter holidays why not host an Easter egg hunt in the gardens. Great fun for little and big kids and by using egg shaped boxes you could even hide a drink token inside for your adult guests to redeem at the bar or simply stick with chocolate which everyone loves!
  5. Be one of the first couples of the season to get married in our stunning rose garden, and although the roses may not be in full bloom just yet, the blossoms will be and you may even be lucky enough to catch our magnolias in flower. And I know what you are thinking spring weather isn’t always bright and sunny. Don’t panic we always have a back up plan set in the barn if the outdoor ceremony isn’t possible. You will still be able to enjoy some pictures outdoors during a break in the weather.
  6. A fun way to instantly jazz up your drinks reception is to serve your bottles of beer in a fun ‘ice bucket’ like a wheelbarrow.
  7. Colour and spring go hand in hand and adding a pop of gingham can really evoke the memories of picnics and getting out in the sun after winter. Table runners, top cloths or even bouquet ribbon all look fabulous in that iconic checked pattern.
  8. Choosing a venue like Elms Barn that naturally has that garden party feel is an instant way of bringing in the spring time vibes before you have even thought about the flowers and other details that can only add to an already stunning location. The pond behind the reception lawn really sets off the whole garden party feeling.
  9. People have been falling out of love with the traditional fruit cake for a while now so why not lean fully into the lighter sponge option with a lightly frosted naked cake with either dried or fresh real flowers. Our florists can do this for you to seamlessly blend into your table displays, or delicately crafted sugar flowers.
  10. Last but by no means least Wedding Wellies. We all know that April and May are not always blue skies and sunshine but a little rain shouldn’t ruin your day. My advise put on some custom wedding wellies and go and dance in the puddles, your photographer will be able to capture some truly unique and stunning images of you and your new spouse being silly and fun together. If you are lucky enough to get a bright sunny day why not have a game of welly wanging with your guests? A truly British, dirt cheap and super fun game when you simply chuck wellington boots as far as you can. Again the perfect chance for some super fun and natural photos of all your guests being a little silly.
