Real Life Wedding

Lauren Anderson & Robbie Clarke

The sun was shining on Lauren & Robbie’s wedding day, which featured a church ceremony and plenty of fun to follow back at Elms Barn. Currently living in Hertfordshire, Lauren grew up in Norfolk and always knew that she wanted to be married back home. Her sister had her wedding at Elms Barn in 2017 and it was stunning, so it was a no brainer for Lauren to follow suit.

Anyone who knows Lauren well knows her love for the colour duck egg blue and gin, so this was the wedding colour scheme and theme.  The tables were named after different artisan gins and they had gin bottles as centrepieces, including local favourites: Adnams Copper House, Bullards and Norfolk Gin.

Lauren & Robbie are huge foodies and were really impressed by our delicious seasonal menus and fine wine selection. They opted for a three-course wedding breakfast, with three choices of each course for their guests.  In the evening they had warm ciabattas including seared sirloin of beef with Binham Blue cheese, Teriyaki salmon and grilled halloumi.

Lauran recalls the morning of her wedding being surprisingly relaxed. Her bridesmaids arrived at her parents’ house armed with champagne and pastries.  They spent hours chatting and laughing while having their hair and make-up done.

Our beautiful dark blue Bentley collected Lauren and her Dad to take them to church. Back at the Elms followed hilarious speeches, setting the tone for a fun night ahead dancing the night away…always with gin in hand! Lauren & Robbie stayed the night of their wedding in our luxurious bridal suite while many of their guests stayed the entire weekend in the boutique rooms within the venue’s grounds.

Elms Barn also served a fantastic post wedding BBQ the day after, rounding off the wedding weekend perfectly.
